Estonia to expand cooperation with Japan in the field of IT

Representatives of the Ministry of entrepreneurship and information technologies of Estonia and the Ministry of communications of Japan discussed the stages of signing a number of documents aimed at the development of cooperation in the IT sector.

First of all, it is planned to work in the field of information and communication technologies for the development of "electronic government" systems and network security. Estonia is particularly interested in this issue because of the recent problems with leaking information from ID cards. Representatives of business, promoting currently to the Japanese market such projects as Planetway Europe, Ohuloss, Teleport attended the negotiations.

Representatives of the two countries discussed cooperation not only in the digital sphere, but also in the field of tourism. There was also organized a meeting of representatives of Estonian business with the managers of telecommunication company of Japan Nippon Telegraph and Telephone and Fujitsu Corporation.
