According to the results of the latest public meetings of government structures together with representatives of Energiasalv Pakri OU, it is expected that the permit for the construction of the hydroelectric power plant will be finalized by 2020.

The construction of the plant is planned in the North-West of Estonia, near the city of Paldiski. The pumping hydroelectric power plant, designed for 500 MW, should significantly reduce the dependence of nearby production facilities on external electricity suppliers. The partner in the development and construction of the facility is Alexela Group – a large holding company that combines fuel and energy enterprises, companies related to metallurgy and real estate. In addition, Energiasalv Pakri plans to attract investors in the near future in order to collect the required amount of about 350 million euros  for the construction completion.
