The Luminor Bank, which was the result of a merger of Norwegian Bank DNB and Swedish Nordea, started its working in Estonia. The new Finance company has combined affiliated companies of DNB and Nordea in all three Baltic countries and can compete with the largest player on the financial market, the Bank Swedbank.

Earlier DNB served small and medium businesses and private clients, and Nordea focused on working with large businesses. Consolidation of all resources of these banks will make Luminor a large universal financial tool.

Kreditbank changed its name to Coop. The new name is logical for the Bank, the majority owner of which is Estonia's largest cooperative group of retailers, Coop Eesti. In October the Bank points will be opened in the stores, it will be possible to open an account, get a card and apply for credit.
