The European Union plans to change the rules of Internet packages taxation
Avaldatud 16. 2017.a.
Currently tax benefits for international packages are established in the countries of the European Union. For example, in Denmark the duty-free limit is 10 Euro, in Bulgaria – 15 euros, the French system imposes VAT tax on all packages. In most of the countries threshold of 22€ is adopted.

According to analysts, the loss of the EU due to these benefits amount to several billion euros per year. In this regard, it was proposed to introduce the taxation system for the first cent. However, collection and transfer of 1-2 cents will be very difficult without the development of a new declaration system, specification of authorities for the collection and transfer of taxes to the state. The bill is planned to be developed by 2021.

It should be noted that the changes will be applied only to goods arriving from the Third countries (e.g. from China), as well as products from regions with local self-government (Canary Islands, Greenland, etc.). All necessary fees will have to be paid in the case of delivery of alcohol, tobacco and perfumes.
