In May of this year Estonian Ministry of Economy offered colleagues from the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation to conduct joint negotiations and resume the work of the Commission, which was established in 2006.

In the beginning of the year the participants of the transport market tried to renew discussion on the reduction of transit flow in Estonia at the state level. Operators of Muuga cargo port repeatedly stated that the port facilities are idle because of the lack of Russian goods.

In December during the renewed meeting of the Transport Commission with the participation of the Estonian and Russian parties it is planned to discuss issues of reducing the flow of transit goods, development of new crossings for road transport, problems of coordinating freight rail transport.
