Last week, the government delegations of Estonia and China held preliminary talks before the “16+1” summit.Meetings between representatives of business and government agencies of the EU and China are held for the first time in this format.

At the meeting the head of the Estonian government discussed with the Chinese partners the development of the railway corridor from North-Eastern China to the Baltic States, which, according to the parties, will lead to a significant increase in trade. Estonia is currently designing a special e-commerce distribution centre for Chinese enterprises and goods. The main advantages of the site should be modern digital management, the exclusion of corruption and experienced staff.

Estonian food producers are also planning to use this center. In addition to the dairy products, which are already present in China, poultry and fish supplies are possible. Representatives of the ministries of agriculture of the two countries also signed an agreement on joint development of agricultural areas until 2022.
