This week a new power plant that produces energy using solar panels will be opened near the city of Pärnu on the territory of the former landfill for waste collection.

The garbage accumulated in this territory is already successfully processed into gas used for domestic purposes. The new station, equipped with more than 13 thousand solar photovoltaic modules, and 4 stations with a capacity of almost 1 megawatt each will provide a large number of enterprises and residential buildings of the city of Pärnu with cheap electricity and will be another step towards achieving the energy independence of Estonia.
