At the Lennart Meri-2021 conference, held in Tallinn, they once again discussed increasing efforts to create their own sources of environmentally friendly energy in the country. The European Union also urges Estonia to do this.
However, experts are concerned that such an active introduction of “green " technologies will lead to significant losses in some sectors of the economy, which will not be able to be compensated by the subsidies from the EU. For example, this is about peat fertilizers, in the production of which Estonia takes one of the leading places in Europe.
