Tallink modernizes vessels with the help of Finnish technologies
Publishedо 12 February, 2018
Estonia's largest shipping operator Tallink Grupp has signed a contract with a young Finnish company Fleetrange Ltd to equip its vessels with the latest Internet of Things system.
Introduction of new technologies is carried out after several months of tests, which involved, among other things, cruise and cargo-passenger ferries of the Estonian company. The IOS system allows to exchange information between ships and shore services, collect and analyze data of wind sensors, video surveillance cameras, sensors evaluating ship movement, ice and icebergs positions. In addition, Fleetrange IoT includes tools that can be used in an emergency to search and rescue a ship.
The Fleetrange company created in 2016, actively develops and implements highly intelligent systems, which facilitate management of the ship and make it more safe, especially in the Arctic region conditions.
