Against the background of the process associated with the decommissioning of the Narva power plant units, Estonia is trying to increase the amount of energy produced by wind turbines. Marine projects are also being considered.

At the end of July, an agreement was signed with Latvia, involving the construction of an offshore wind farm directly on the territory of the Gulf of Riga. A project to install a fleet of wind turbines of increased height (up to 290 m) in the West of the country is also under approval.
