The authorities in Tallinn plan to mark the border with Russia by themselves. Herewith, the boundary treaty between the two countries is still pending. Government of the Republic wants to place 412 boundary buoys and 760 markers. By such a measure Estonia plans to reduce the percentage of crossing the state border by mistake.

The Pedetsi River on the border of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Estonia and the Republic of Latvia will be the first place where a new border marker will be placed .

After agreement with the various ministries the document will be offered for approval to the Government  of Tallinn. It should be reminded that a one-sided marking of the border has no legal power for bordering countries in accordance with international and legal norms.
