Europe allocates funds forsecurity equipment renewing of Estonian border

The European Commission will allocate EUR 35 million to the Ministry of internal Affairs of Estonia. With the help of this grant the Estonian government will be able to renew their equipment and technologies for border security. 

According to the Minister of internal Affairs Hanno Pevkur, Estonia will purchase new boats for the water patrol, as well as modern drones that allow monitoring the border from the air. Part of this grant will be spent on employees training of the Police-Border department. Only qualified and trained professionals are allowed to operate the new equipment. This grant is planned to be spent before the end of 2022. 

Now Estonia updates its electronic visa system, works on marking the border are planned.
