Publishedо 20 December, 2016
According to the media sources, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania plan to disconnect until 2025 from the “BRELL electrical ring” - power supply system of “Belarus – Russia – Estonia – Latvia – Lithuania”.
Aris Zigurs, the chairman of the Board of Latvenergo, declared that this decision is a political one, and the power supply systems of the countries disconnected from BRELL will be synchronized with the European network. In Zigurs’ view, the expected increase in expenses of consumers will be declined at the cost of European investments.
