Rail Baltica project is subjected to a large-scale audit
Publishedо 16 October, 2018
Control and audit departments of the Baltic States will soon make a full-scale audit of the Rail Baltica project, which is in the final stage of design.
Rail Baltica program involves the construction of the railway section with a standard European gauge, which should connect Baltic countries, Poland and Western Europe, primarily Germany, by the shortest route. The national audit office of Estonia will be the leading international institution that will conduct a functional audit of internal management systems, procurement and financing process. In addition, government agencies will assess how the project is protected from financial risks and possible increase in the cost of implementation.
The sources of the project funding will also be subjected to a thorough review, including by the EU National Agency for innovation and network infrastructure (INEA).
