5G auction will be held in Estonia next year

Representatives of the Ministry of economy and communications of Estonia announced plans to hold an unusual auction in the first half of 2019 – 5g network frequencies will be put up for sale.
Frequencies in the range 3410-3800 MHz of fifth generation mobile communications will be available for sale. Both Estonian companies and non-resident firms can become buyers. At the moment, the document regulating the auction is being finalized. According to experts, the state's income may exceed 30 million euros.
The Finnish telecommunications company Elisa Oyj, which actively promotes the development of 5G networks in Suomi and Estonia in cooperation with Vodafone will be one of the most active participants. In order to increase its share in this area, Elisa got a loan in the Northern investment Bank in the amount of more than 100 million euros.
