Last week Tallinn hosted a meeting of representatives of companies and organizations associated with the work of cruise ports in the Baltic and North seas. As a result of the conference, the concept of development of port tourism Green Cruise Port was approved.

The content of the plan "Green Cruise Port" was announced by representatives of the Ministry of economy and infrastructure of Estonia. Against the background of the ever-growing influx of tourists and the number of cruise liners in the Baltic region, it is necessary to carry out timely measures to reduce the negative impact on the environment from the high congestion of ports. However, these measures should not limit the development of the tourism industry from an economic point of view. Green Cruise Port contains an action plan until 2030, which allows to develop simultaneously the tourist infrastructure and create a safe environment from an ecological point of view.

An example to the rest can be a new terminal in the port of Tallinn, the construction of which will be completed by 2021. The use of modern highly intelligent solutions in the field of heating, lighting and waste management, as well as traffic management system Smart Port will allow to achieve high performance.
