The Baltic countries are asking for compensation from the EU for market deprivation

Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia applied with a joint request to the commissioner for agriculture in the EU, Phil Hogan, for the facilitation of the dairy products market in the Baltic countries.
Agriculture organizations of these countries complain that they have lost one of the nearest and most profitable markets due to Russia's retaliatory sanctions. According to the milk manufacturers, due to a number of logistic issues and worldwide milk production increase search for a new market will take months and even years. Consequently, the Baltic countries are expecting understanding from the EU and asking for compensation for their losses.
