Thoughts of termination of the Schengen Agreement in Europe

The uncontrolled stream of refugees to Europe brought governments of participant-states of the Schengen Agreement to think ofthe borders closure. Reintroduction of border controls in Estonia for 4 days in 2014 in connection with the visit of the US president amounted to 400 thousand Euro. Borders closure for extended time frame may not only result in enormous financial costs, but also in serious personnel reshuffle in Custom Service.
The closure of the state border of Estonia will seriously affect freight forwarders - the costs of obtaining visas and predicted by experts queues at customs will have a negative impact on profits of transport companies.
The closure of European borders is currently under discussion because there is very little hope that the measure will correct the situation with refugees, and the negative consequences of such a decision are inevitable.
