Tallinn port capacity keeps declining
Avaldatud 15. marts 2016.a.
Cargo turnover of Tallinn port (Estonia) decreased by 14,9% for the first two months of the current year compared with the indices of the same period in 2015. Taking into consideration the fact that the port cargo turnover reduced by 20,8% in 2015, we can say that the downtrend still remains.
Reduction in transshipment volume of wet goods (-23,1%) which form the basis of cargo turnover in Tallinn port continues to have a significant impact on the situation. The indices of container cargo transshipment also decreased by 10,9%. In spite of the growth in cargo turnover of some other types of goods, for example, bulk cargo, the big picture is still unfavorable.
