Modular nuclear power plant to appear in Western Estonia

Avaldatud 11. marts 2020.a.
Fermi Energia company, created by experts in the field of nuclear energy in Estonia, has designated the region for the construction of a new generation nuclear power plant. The commissioning of the facility is expected by the end of 2030.

The station will most likely appear on the coast near the city of Pärnu, but in any case the construction site will need to be agreed with public organizations. The new nuclear power plant with a liquid-salt reactor will be significantly smaller in size compared to standard facilities, and the resulting energy of 300 mW will cover up to a quarter of Estonia's needs.
