"Climatic" duties scare Estonian agricultural producers
Avaldatud 03. veebruar 2022.a.
Estonian agricultural producers worry that a program to introduce increased "green" customs duties may kill the industry. Particular attention is paid to fertilizers imported from Russia.
A program aimed at reducing the share of high-carbon products, including some types of fertilizers, can lead to a significant increase in food prices, especially vegetables, fruits and grains. This, in turn, will make Estonian manufacturers uncompetitive against the background of suppliers from Russia and Belarus.
