One of the most lively shipping lines in Europe - between Estonia and Finland - will receive from the EU 29.3 million euros for the development of infrastructure in ports of Helsinki and Tallinn for the project "Twin-Port II".
Terminals A and D of the Tallinn port will undergo reconstruction (will be joined). In the Port of Helsinki will be carried out works on installation of ramps for passengers and vehicles as well as construction of a new terminal. Part of the allocated funds will be directed to the development of the Estonian Old City Harbour and construction of a ferry for the private shipping company Tallink.
Shipping traffic between Tallinn and Helsinki every year allows to carry up to 3 million tons of cargo and 8 millions of passengers. EU investments in the development of this line will help to ensure the safety of traffic and improve communication between ports in Finland and Estonia.
