Container turnover of the Port of Tallinn in 2015 decreased by 19.8%

There were summarized the turnover of the Port of Tallinn in 2015. Received data allow us to judge that the flow of goods through Estonian ports decreased significantly. Total volume of transshipped cargo in the port of Tallinn in 2015was 22.44 million tons, which is 20.8% less than in 2014. Herewith, container turnover of the Port decreased by 19.8%.
Detailed analysis showed a sharp decline in the Estonian port of transshipment through liquid cargo - the volume decreased by 32.2%. However, there are also increasing rates: overloaded timber volume increased by 2.3%, and general cargo - by 9.4%.
In 2016, the Port of Tallinn plans to increase volume of transshipments and to overload 22.7 million tons of cargo.
