Estonia is going to strengthen the Schengen land border

The Estonian government created a document establishing execution aspects of Schengen land border guarded by the Estonian garrison service.
In the course of the works on the border area strengthening which will be held since 2016 until 2019, it is planned to build a 2,5 meters high fence on the distance of 90 km out of 135 km land border and also develop other constructions such as lighting, barrier gates, patrol path and control line, frontier markers and barriers for animals. Total costs of the works will amount to approximately 70 mln euros.
