Tightened regulations of pig breeding in Estonia remain in force

In the run up to the summer the Estonian department of veterinary and food control offer the farmers to think of the pig breeding expediency. There are more and more cases of African swine fever virus (ASF) among wild animals, and hot weather may lead to new desease outbreaks.
At the present day in Estonia tightened requirements for pig farming and backyarding are in force. An isolated case of ASF can result in prolonging of the quarantine in the whole region that will be followed by serious economic damage of farms. Only farms which comply with all established safety and control rules can rely on state reimbursement in case of animal deseases.
