Presidential election in Estonia will be watched by 20 Russian representatives

Today, on August 29, the first stage of presidential elections takes place in Riigikogu. Three candidates run for the president office, they are Eyki Nestor, Maylis Reps and Halard Joks. To become a head of the state, one of them needs to gain support of at least 68 deputies.
20 Russian representative have arrived in Estonia to watch a procedure of presidential elections. Evgeny Krishtafovich, the director of Centre for European Initiatives, declares: “Our aim is to show Russian colleagues a head of the state election tradition in the parliamentary country and also to compare political cultures of European and former Soviet Union countries. We invited in Estonia first of all political experts and journalists who are very interested in political comparative analysis”.
