Ticket from Riga to Tallinn by Rail Baltica highway will cost 38 euros

During the "Rail Baltica Global Forum 2017" in Riga forecasts of self sufficiency of Rail Baltica main railway line were announced. According to analysts, the cost for the highway construction can reach 5,788 billion euros, and social and economic benefit of the project will amount to 16 billion euros.

Not only improvement of communications between Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius, but also a positive impact on the economy of the Baltic States are expected from Rail Baltica. According to forecasts, high-speed passenger trains will go along Rail Baltica at a speed of 240 km an hour, travelling from Riga to Tallinn for 1 hour 55 minutes. Pre-announced ticket price for this route will be 38 euros. The speed for cargo transportation will also grow, the maximum limit for freight train will be 120 km an hour.
