Estonia began to fight with gray salaries actively
Avaldatud 23. 2018.a.
The Estonian tax and customs Department has entered an active phase in the fight against"grey salaries." For this purpose, the government has made some agreements with representatives of banking institutions.

By 2019, it is planned to introduce software that will allow credit institutions from the Union of banks of Estonia to automatically request information on wages and the amount of taxes paid. These data will be used without fail when issuing a loan to an individual. Accordingly, workers who receive a salary in an envelope may face refusals or a significant reduction in the credit limit.

Thus, the country plans to reduce the volume of gray wages, which remains very significant, and last year increased to almost 15%. The reduction of this indicator will allow attracting substantial amounts of pensions and subsidies twice.
